How can I book an appointment?
If you wish to book an initial consultation or have any questions, please contact me at pierlceccarelli@gmail.com or phone on 07808 027162. I will try to respond within 24 hours.
What happens during the initial meeting?
During the initial consultation, we have an opportunity to discuss your difficulties and I can establish whether I can offer the help you need. If you decide to start therapy, a mutually convenient consulting time is agreed and I will reserve a regular weekly appointment for you.
How much does it cost?
If you would like some information about my fees (initial consultation and further sessions), please contact me either by telephone or email. Some concessions are available for those on low income or in training.
How long will therapy take?
The amount of time clients would spend in therapy depends on several factors, the most important being the nature of the difficulties experienced by each individual client and his/her therapeutic needs. Depending on the severity of the problem and the type of therapy selected, psychotherapy can require a few sessions or much longer. Generally, short-term counselling (16 sessions or less) is often sufficient to gain relief of specific symptoms, while long-term psychotherapy is better suited for more complex disturbances and/or deeper personality issues.
I have private health insurance, are you an approved psychologist?
I am registered with a number of health insurances as an approved Psychologist. Please check with your insurance before starting therapy sessions to establish the number of sessions that you are covered for. You will be responsible for payment of any charges if at any point during the therapy your policy does not qualify for benefit. Please note that missed or cancelled sessions are not covered by insurances.
Will I be charged if I cancel a session?
If you need to change the time of an appointment, I will try my best to accommodate your request. Missed or cancelled sessions are chargeable. No fee will be applied if a cancellation is received 48 hours or more prior to the appointment time, otherwise the full fee is payable.
What happens during the holidays?
I will give you as much notice as possible of holidays and other absences and you will not be charged for my absences. If you have some holidays planned, please let me know at least 48 hours in advance.
Is it confidential?
Our sessions are confidential. However, if I believe that serious harm may occur to you or others, confidentiality may be broken. Before the disclosure of any such information, I would nevertheless make sure to discuss the matter with you. As a Counselling Psychologist, I am in regular supervision as recommended by my professional bodies (BPS and HCPC). The duty of confidentiality extends to my supervisor, who is also an accredited clinician.
Client notes are kept for six years and stored in a secure way. I am the Data Controller and registered with the ICO. Under Data Protection Law, clients have the right to ask for a copy of their records.
